Ambassador He meets with Ms. Helen Blake

On 18th September, Ambassador He Xiangdong met with Ms. Helen Blake, Assistant Secretary for the EU and International Division of Department of Taoiseach.

Ambassador He said that China-Ireland cooperation has been developing rapidly in various fields, including economic and trade, investment, science and technology. Ireland is China’s important partner in Europe. China is ready to make joint efforts with Ireland to deepen mutual beneficial cooperation, enhance communication and coordination in international affairs, mutually uphold multilateralism, respect each other’s core interests and major concerns, so as to push forward China-Ireland Strategic Partnership for Mutually Beneficial Cooperation to a new level. The Chinese side hopes Ireland will provide fair, just and non-discriminative treatment to Chinese enterprises.

Ms. Blake said that Ireland attaches great importance to its relationship with China, and appreciates China’s significant contribution to the world economy. Ireland is willing to further enhance its cooperation with China. Many Chinese enterprises, including Huawei, make important contribution to Irish economy. Ireland cordially welcome Chinese investment in Ireland and will continuously provide good business environment for Chinese investors.

Also present were Mr. Shen Mingchun, Chief of Political and Press Section from the Embassy, and Mr. Cathal O’Regan, Principal Officer of the International Unit of Department of Taoiseach.
