Ambassador He meets CEO of IDA

On 17th September, Ambassador He Xiangdong met with Mr. Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA. They exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in bilateral investment.

Mr. Shanahan introduced recent strategies initiated by IDA to attract investment from Asia-Pacific region, and in particular from China. He said Chinese investment to Ireland has been growing rapidly in recent years and has provided a new momentum to Irish economy. IDA attaches great importance to the potential of Chinese investors and would like to work along with Chinese partners to enhance mutual understanding and interactions.

Ambassador He encourage IDA to provide an open, fair, and predictable environment for Chinese companies invested in Ireland. The Chinese Embassy is always willing to work along with IDA to attract more potential Chinese investors to Ireland.

Also present were Ms. Luolan Jin, First Secretary of Commercial Section of the Embassy and Ms. Eileen Sharpe, IDA Manager for Growth Markets, Europe and Emerging Business.
