Ambassador Yue Xiao Yong met with the Cathaoirleach of Galway

On 11 September, H.E. Dr. Yue, Chinese Ambassador to Ireland met Mr. Ó Tuairisg, the Cathaoirleach of Galway County Council.

Mr. Ó Tuairisg introduced the Galway County's great initiative to develop friendly relations with China local government and achievements till then. He also appreciated China's developing routine which led to remarkable economic growth.

Ambassador Yue appreciated Mr.Ó Tuairisg's informative briefing and Galway's willingness to cooperate and exchanges with China, and showed him the achievement since President Xi's proposing Belt and Road Initiative in 2013 and China's willingness to mutual beneficially cooperate with countries including Ireland. Both exchanged views on enhancing Sino-Irish local relations in a warm atmosphere.

In the same day, Ambassador Yue met with Chinese communities in Galway and encouraged them to do more contributions to China-Ireland friendship.

Also present were Mr. Shen Mingchun, Chief of the Political and Press Section of Chinese Embassy, Mr. Ger Mullarkey, Financial Director, and Ms. Eimear Dolan, Acting Senior Executive Officer from Galway County Council.
