Ambassador Yue attends Cathay Pacific Reception prior to Dublin-Hong Kong Flight Service Launch

On 31st May 2018, H.E. Dr. Yue Xiaoyong, Chinese Ambassador to Ireland, attended a reception in Dublin Castle celebrating the launch of Cathay Pacific’s new direct passenger service between Dublin and Hong Kong, together with Irish Minister of State of the Department of Finance Michael D’Arcy, and Financial Secretary of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administration Region (HKSAR) Paul Chan Mo-po.

Cathay Pacific’s direct flight service between Dublin and Hong Kong will start on 2nd June. Hainan Airlines will be launching its much-anticipated Dublin-Beijing non-stop route on 12th June. Both routes will bring great opportunities for bilateral trade, investment, tourism and people-to-people exchanges between China and Ireland.

Also present at the reception were Vice Chairman of China Economic and Social Council Yang Chonghui who were visiting Ireland, Chief Executive of Tourism Ireland Niall Gibbons, Irish Consul General in Hong Kong Peter Ryan, and Chief Executive of Cathay Pacific Robert Hogg.

Commercial Counsellor Xue He and some other diplomats of the Chinese Embassy also attended the reception.
