Chinese Ambassador visits Bord Bia

On Friday, 6th April 2018, H.E. Dr. Yue Xiaoyong, Chinese Ambassador to Ireland, paid a visit to Bord Bia (Irish Food Board) and was warmly received by Bord Bia Chief Executive Tara McCarthy.

Ms. McCarthy briefed the Ambassador and his entourage about the Irish agri-food sector, and Bord Bia's plan for further enhancing exchanges and cooperation with China, the 3rd largest market for Irish agri-food. She also confirmed Bord Bia's decision to participate in China International Import Expo (CIIE), which is to be held in Shanghai in November this year.

Ambassador Yue expressed appreciation and welcome to Ms. McCarthy, and reaffirmed his readiness to work with Bord Bia to tap the potential in China-Ireland exchanges and cooperation in agri-food production and trade.

Also present at the meeting were Mme. Xue He, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Ireland, and Ms. Mary Curley, Deputy Head of International Trade Division of the Irish Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
