Ambassador Yue Has a Study Visit to Cork

On 26th and 27th November 2017, H.E. Dr. Yue Xiaoyong, Chinese Ambassador to Ireland, paid a study visit to Cork in southwest of Ireland.

The Ambassador had meetings with Mr. Patrick Ledwidge, Deputy Chief Executive of Cork City Council responsible for Strategic, Planning, Economic Development and Enterprise, and Mr. Sean McKeown, Director of Fota Wildlife Park.

Ambassador received briefings about Cork City's urban development plans in the next 10 to 20 years, and the history, accomplishments and future schemes of Fota Wildlife Park. Dr. Yue and his team were given a guided tour in the Park.

Accompanied by Mr. Ledwidge and a senior executive of a Cork-based commercial property developer, the Chinese Ambassador went to Cork's docklands, which are to be regenerated into a pedestrian-friendly commercial and residential district with amenities.

Traveling with the Ambassador on this trip were the Chinese Embassy's Commercial Counsellor Mme. Xue He and Chief Political Officer Mr. Pan Xiongwen.
