2017 Experience China - Cultural Exploration of West China in Ireland was successfully held in Dublin by China's State Council Information Office and Chinese Embassy in Ireland, including one performance Dancing in the Clouds Folk Singing and Dancing of West China on 26th July in NCH, and two documentaries screening (Roof of the World and Born in China) on 27th July in Savoy Cinema.

Over 150 people attended the Opening Ceremony of 2017 Experience China - Cultural Exploration of West China in Ireland. Mr. Charles Flanagan, Minister for Justice and Equality, Mr. Lu Guangjin, Director of the Department of Human Rights of the State Council Information Office, and Mme. Yang Hua, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy made their remarks and cut the ribbon for the 2017 Experience China in Ireland.

The performance was delivered by Yunnan Performing Arts Troupe. 800 audiences watched the performance. They were deeply touched by Chinese minority ethnic group’s dancing and singing.

Several hundreds people also enjoyed those two documentaries screening. Many of them said that they were willing to know more about West China and eager to visit China especially the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau which is called the "Roof of the World".

On July 24th and 25th, a Chinese Tibetan delegation visited IIEA, UCD Confucius Institute and DFAT. The delegation talked with government officials, professors and researchers on issues ranging from the Belt and Road Initiative to Tibetan economic development.
