Hainan Delegation visits Ireland

From 8th to 11th July, Mr. Mao Chaofeng, Executive Vice-Governor of Hainan Province, visited Ireland at the invitation of Wicklow County Council.

On 8th July, H.E. Dr. Yue Xiaoyong, Chinese Ambassador to Ireland, met with Mr. Mao Chaofeng and his entourage. Ambassdor Yue welcomed Vice Governor Mao to visit Ireland and gave a brief introduction of Sino-Irish relations. Vice Governor Mao expressed his sincere willingness to carry out fruitful cooperation with Wicklow County in the coming future.

On 10th July, Vice Governor Mao had friendly meetings with Mr. Edward Timmins, the Cathaoirleach and Mr. Bryan Doyle, the Chief Executive of Wicklow County Council. Both sides signed the agreement of establishing Hainan-Wicklow twining relationship and committed to deepen their cooperation in tourism, culture, trade and other areas. Vice Governor Mao also met with Mr. Patrick Edmond, Group Strategy Director of Shannon Group. Mme. Yang Hua, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Ireland, was present at the above events.
