On December 2, 2008, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Wu Hongbo met in the Foreign Ministry with Andrej Lepavcov, foreign affairs advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia. Both sides spoke highly of the sound development of China-Macedonia relations, expressing willingness to make joint efforts in pushing forward bilateral cooperation in all areas.

The Macedonian delegation is visiting China at the invitation of Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA).
